USA DANCE TOUR 2018

NEW YORK and ORLANDO

In September, we took a group of 32 students and parents on our second incredible dance tour overseas from Thursday 20 September to Sunday 7 October to the USA.  We spent the first week in New York and everyone enjoyed a fabulous week exploring this magnificent city and loving where we stay on the Upper West Side.  Our students danced in workshops at Steps on Broadway, the Rockette’s Experience, Broadway Dance Centre and Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre.  They toured the David Koch Theatre at the Lincoln Centre and attended 3 Broadway Musicals - Frozen, Chicago and Lion King and attended the New York City Ballet – Balanchine Gala.

Our second week, took us to Orlando to have the DisneyWorld experience and what an amazing journey that was.  DisneyWorld is huge! Our dancers attended a Disney Performing Arts Workshop and performed a fantastic jazz production piece at Disney Springs.  Our students were outstanding, performing in very hot conditions and were the ultimate professionals dancing with great energy and wowing the crowd.  We finished our tour at Universal Studios in Orlando with the whole team having the most awesome fun in the final days of our tour. 

In 2016, we took a group of 32 on our first amazing dance tour overseas. We spent the first week in Anaheim, Los Angeles.  We had a fantastic week at Disneyland, Disney California Park, Universal Studios, Santa Monica and Hollywood.  Students participated in classes/workshops at the Disney Performing Arts, Millennium Dance Complex and The Edge Performing Arts Center.  We then traveled to New York for our second week of touring.  Our students danced in workshops at Steps on Broadway, Joffrey Ballet School, Broadway Dance Centre and Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre.  They toured Radio City Music Hall and attended 3 Broadway Musicals - Aladdin, An American in Paris and Kinky Boots.  

Our students really enjoyed experiencing every dance style throughout these tours and were enriched by every part of these cultural experiences.  It truly was another fantastic dance adventure this year, which was again made possible by Dream Maker Travel.

Our tours are so successful and brilliant that we will definitely be doing more ABS Dance Tours in the future.   It was such a phenomenal opportunity and well organised that every student and parent came away with such fabulous memories. We can't wait to give our students this opportunity again in the future.  Ashfield Ballet School really gives it students wonderful dance opportunities.
